15 minutes by car from the town centre of Chiang Mai is Green Valley Country Club, part of the Green Valley Group of country clubs in Thailand. Designed by Dennis Griffiths the 18-holes world standard golf course with par 72 stays very prominently among the view of mountains, cool and cozy atmosphere. It features an abundance of well placed sand bunkers and lots of water that can come into play on nearly every hole on the course. The fairways are ample and mostly level. The greens are large, receptive to approach shots, and putting speed is moderate to slightly fast. However, course length, numerous elevation changes, and prevailing wind makes Green Valley a tough but fair challenge to golfers of all skill levels. The course drains exceptionally well during the wet season and benefits from the nearly constant "good air" breeze of the Mae Rim area.
